Mountain Maryland is delighted to welcome back a select group of Makers this June to square off against one another in a competition of skill and teamwork.

Once again, this year’s MUC event is hosted by Western Maryland Works and Makerspace at Allegany College of Maryland. This competition will center around a loosely defined project and a pile of materials. On the first day of competition, captains will be assigned teams and briefed on the details regarding the challenge. During this time, teams can begin their collaboration, planning, and strategy. In addition to a standard issue of tools and materials, each team will have access to the “MUC Store”. The store will have tools and materials available to augment their creation. Furthermore, the only currency accepted at the “Store” will be MUC bucks.

Once on location, teams will be given their materials and tools and set loose to create. The clock will be the greatest adversary in this challenge. You will only have two days to complete the project. There will be plenty of time in the evenings for fun, relaxation and networking, designed to promote and grow the relationships between Makers and Brands.
